Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to common questions about therapy, my approach, and what to expect when we work together.

Questions and answers

What can I expect in treatment?

CBT is so effective because it uses a structured, strategic, and goal-oriented approach focused on problem-solving, skill-building, and progress monitoring. The therapy structure is based on an understanding of your case, your unique circumstances, your therapy goals, and the treatment plan. Session time is organized so you can make the most of each one.

Do you treat OCD and anxiety disorders?

Yes. My specialties include obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder with and without agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, anxiety about health and medical procedures, body dysmorphic disorder, insomnia and sleep disturbance related to anxiety, adjustment to life stressors with anxiety and depression, and depression when co-occurring with anxiety. The therapeutic approach I use, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), has proven very effective in helping most people with those diagnoses.

What is your approach to therapy?

I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Following CBT principles, I work collaboratively with clients to develop a shared understanding of their challenges, therapy goals, and treatment plans. CBT helps you identify rigid, biased patterns in your attention, thinking, and coping that maintain your problems and symptoms, then builds your capacity to generate alternative perceptions and coping strategies so you can overcome your current problems and improve your psychological well-being.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults (18-65+) in individual therapy, remote therapy only, with patients in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and 42 other PSYPACT-authorized states. Sessions are available in English and Spanish.

Do you offer telehealth or virtual sessions?

Yes. I provide remote (telehealth) therapy only, for adults, with patients in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and 42 other PSYPACT-authorized states.

What are your credentials and experience?

I am a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist (PsyD, ABPP, BICBT CC, ACBT). I am a Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania (PS015605) and Colorado (PSY 0007036), and with PSYPACT-Mobility # 25380, I can extend my telepsychology services to 44 states. For 20 years, I have served as director and clinical psychologist at the Center for Integrative Psychotherapy in Allentown, PA. My education and training, advanced training, licensure, and board and competence-based certifications are listed in full on my About page.

Headway Platform

I partner with Headway, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that supports mental health providers with insurance billing, scheduling, telehealth, and documentation. Headway helps verify benefits, submit claims, and ensure reimbursement, so I can focus fully on delivering high-quality clinical care.

Secure and Streamlined Client Care

My practice utilizes TherapyNotes, a leading, HIPAA-compliant EHR software. Your personal health data, notes, and records are fully encrypted and stored securely. This platform lets me manage scheduling, clinical documentation, and client communications safely and efficiently. Through the client portal (TherapyPortal), current clients can view upcoming appointments, complete intake paperwork, and securely communicate with our office—all while ensuring your private health information remains strictly confidential and protected with advanced encryption.

Deepening the Focus on Your Care

To keep our sessions focused on you, I use Upheal, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform powered by advanced clinical AI. Instead of spending session time on manual typing or shorthand note-taking, Upheal works securely in the background. It captures the key themes and progress markers of our conversations. This lets me stay 100% present with you in the room while automatically generating highly accurate, secure medical records afterward.

Data-Driven Insights About Your Progress

I use Measurement-Based Care (MBC) in my practice. Research consistently shows that routine symptom measurement improves outcomes, reduces the risk of deterioration, improves decision-making, strengthens collaboration between clinician and client, and makes treatment more proactive and efficient. Without data, clinicians tend to recall salient sessions, overestimate improvement, and underestimate risk. MBC means you will frequently fill out questionnaires or scales about your symptoms and other relevant aspects of your treatment response. For that purpose, I use PsyPack, a secure, HIPAA-compliant online assessment platform. PsyPack lets you complete validated symptom screeners easily from any phone, tablet, or computer. The platform instantly analyzes the data, allowing me to visualize your therapeutic journey, track changes objectively, and adjust your personalized treatment plan in real time. Your answers help me see whether your treatment is working and adjust the modality, dosage, or focus based on objective trends.
